The story follows the attempts of Shuichi Shindo and his band, Bad Luck, to become Japan's next musical sensation.
Though starting as a manga book series, it ran for 12 volumes between 1996 and 2002 Resulting in a 13 episode Anime series in 2001/2 Where music was written to accompany the stories.
The fact that the members of the band were gay may have given the story its unique edge, gay sexuality was not a major part of the plot. The anime features a large amount of music, a diverse set of characters, plenty of comedy, romance, and touches of drama and violence.
The DVD’s went onto surpass 500,00 in sales, no music was released commercially.
